Creators and locks

possum takes no creator fee. A creator earns like any holder, and earns more on tokens they lock.

No creator fee

  • A creator usually holds the biggest early bag from the dev buy, and that bag earns its share of the fees like anyone’s. To earn more, buy more at launch and hold it.
  • The mint fee (0.25 SOL) and the cost of the reserved slice go back to the creator at milestone 1. Launching a token

The dev multiplier

Tokens the creator locks weigh 1.5x while they stay locked, if the lock is the right kind:

  • a Jupiter Lock escrow the creator funded, that pays out only to the creator;
  • that nobody can cancel and nobody can send to someone else;
  • whose first tokens unlock at least 30 days after the lock was made.

Only the locked tokens get the bonus, only while locked, and they stop counting as they unlock, claimed or not. Whatever the bonus, the creator never takes more than 20% of a token’s escrow release or daily pot.

Locks for everyone

  • Any holder can lock tokens the same way. A lock like that keeps the tokens in their holding with their time: locking never costs weight. The bonus is the creator’s alone.
  • A lock that someone else claims, or that can be cancelled or redirected, counts as sending the tokens away, and claiming them later counts as receiving them.
  • The lock box on each token page makes the right kind of lock in one transaction the holder signs. Tokens are claimed back at lock.jup.ag once they unlock.
Why this shape
A lock that can be undone proves nothing, and one paying another wallet would hand time weight to it. The expiry list shows the creator’s bag and what of it is locked, so a community can weigh the creator’s tokens before taking a token over. The expiry list
