Where the money comes from
Every trade pays StonkFun’s pool fee. StonkFun forwards part of it to the pool’s creator, which on a possum launch is possum’s treasury, and possum splits what arrives. All figures are shares of trade volume.
The fee, by phase
| phase | trade fee | StonkFun keeps | to possum | holders | POSSUM buybacks | platform |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| on the curve | 1% | 0.5% | 0.5% | 0.2% | 0.2% | 0.1% |
| after bond | 2% | 0.5% | 1.5% | 1% | 0.4% | 0.1% |
- StonkFun’s fee is not possum’s to set. A pool’s fee tier is fixed when it launches, and possum always uses the 2% tier. The split of possum’s share is possum’s, and the three parts always add up to what StonkFun forwards.
- On the curve, curve buyers are the group the design trusts least, so most of possum’s share goes platform-wide. The holders’ part is held in escrow until milestone 1. Escrow and milestones
- After bond, most of it goes to holders, split daily. Epochs and payouts
- No creator slice. Creators earn as holders. Creators and locks
- From milestone 2, 25% of a token’s buyback part becomes that token’s own side-pool budget. Side pools
- For a token whose pair has fallen off the list, the buyback part goes to its holders instead. Custom pairs
Accrual versus cash
What a token has earned is worked out from its indexed trades at these rates, never from the forwards, which arrive mixed together at one address. The forwards are the cash: nothing is paid out beyond what has arrived. The home page shows any gap between the two, so a change on StonkFun’s side shows up instead of being covered over.
StonkFun forwards by policy, not because the chain forces it. If that ever changes, the fallback is a platform config of possum’s own on LaunchLab.
