POSSUM
The lottery
The POSSUM that buybacks keep goes back out in draws. Each draw picks one good token, and that token’s holders share the prize by weight.
Draws
- Base draws: about 10 a day, each paying 70% of the pot divided by 10. Tickets decide the winner.
- The jackpot: about 1 a week, paying 30% of the pot. Every eligible token has the same odds.
- Draw times are random: each next draw comes somewhere between half and one and a half of the average gap, decided by the draw before. Buying a token after it wins earns nothing from that win.
Who can win
- Tokens past milestone 1 whose score is in the good tier. The holder score
- Tickets are the fees a token’s traders paid over the current and the previous day, in cents. A token with less than $100 of fees has none, no token holds more than 10% of all tickets, and a token whose pair is off the allow-list counts at 50%.
- Wash trading for tickets does not pay: the trades cost their full fee to chase a share of a pot funded by a fraction of it.
The prize
- The winner gets the draw’s prize plus whatever its own holders forfeited before.
- 30% of it is set aside for the token’s side pool. Side pools
- The rest is split among the wallets holding the token at the draw, by weight, with the score’s de-weighting and the creator held to 20%.
- Winnings vest over 7 days and are paid as they vest. Selling the token before then forfeits the unvested part in proportion; forfeits join the token’s next win, and vest again there.
Verifiable
Every draw uses Switchboard’s verifiable randomness and records its proof, the eligible tokens and their tickets, so anyone can recompute the winner.
